This proposed 1,200sf building will feature fully handicap
accessible restroom facilities, an office for the Town’s
Harbormaster and storage space for the band and
harbormaster’s equipment. These expanded facilities will
take the place of the outdated existing facility in order to
meet the growing needs of the wharf and park. It will also
create a much more attractive entrance to the town from the
harbor.
The site is located within the flood plain and velocity
zones, in order to keep from putting the building on stilts,
and therefore needing to install an elevator, Stephen Kelleher Architects, Inc. designed a structural system that would
allow the building to be “flood proofed” and to remain at
grade.
